Jordan Leboe
Vineyard Manager, North Okanagan, Gray Monk Estate Winery
Jordan Leboe’s journey into the wine industry began as a summer job in 1999, sparking a passion that has kept him rooted in the Okanagan Valley ever since. While exploring a career in music production—studying audio engineering in Vancouver and working in theatre sound design—Jordan returned to Kelowna in 2003 and found himself drawn back to the vineyards of Gray Monk. What started as part-time, evolved into a dynamic career spanning over two decades.
From labouring in the fields to managing equipment during harvest, Jordan gained hands-on experience in every aspect of wine production. By 2017, when Andrew Peller acquired Gray Monk, Jordan officially stepped into the role of Vineyard Manager for the North Okanagan, overseeing the estate’s 40-acre vineyard and fostering relationships with growers across the region.
Jordan’s focus is on balancing Gray Monk’s rich history with modern viticultural practices. He’s passionate about preserving legacy blocks like the estate’s original Pinot Gris—the oldest vines of their kind in Canada—through innovative projects such as stem-tip propagation with UBC Okanagan. At the same time, he’s driving sustainability initiatives, from certified sustainable practices to introducing cover crops that nurture the vineyard’s natural ecosystem.
Working closely with winemaker Jen Oishi, Jordan plans for the future of the vineyard, ensuring the right varietals are planted to align with Gray Monk’s cool-climate strengths.
For Jordan, the best part of his role is the people—whether it’s the camaraderie during harvest or collaborating with growers, winemakers, and mentors who have shaped his career. His dedication to both his craft and his community embodies the essence of Gray Monk: celebrating tradition while looking to the future.

Jen Oishi
Winemaker at Gray Monk Estate Winery
Born and raised in the Okanagan Valley, Jen Oishi’s journey into winemaking was serendipitous, rooted in her love for science and her deep connection to her home region. Initially pursuing microbiology at the University of British Columbia with plans for a career in pharmacy, she realized that her true calling lay elsewhere. A spark was ignited when she shifted her focus to the science of winemaking and viticulture, discovering the perfect harmony of art and science in the craft.
In 2011, Jen joined Gray Monk Estate Winery as a laboratory technician, diving headfirst into the intricacies of wine analysis and production. Working closely with renowned winemaker Roger Wong for nearly a decade, Jen honed her skills under his mentorship, learning every aspect of the process from vine to bottle. By 2020, she stepped into the role of winemaker, bringing a modern perspective to Gray Monk’s storied legacy while honouring the traditions established by the Heiss family.
Jen is passionate about staying true to Gray Monk’s roots in cool-climate viticulture, focusing on varietals like Pinot Gris, Riesling, Chardonnay, and sparkling wines that thrive in the Okanagan’s northern terroir. She champions sustainable practices, values collaboration with grape growers, and prioritizes creating approachable, clean, fresh wines for every palate.
For Jen, winemaking is about more than fermentation—it’s about telling the story of the land, the vines, and the people behind every bottle. Whether chatting with guests about Gray Monk’s pioneering history or sharing the process behind a vintage, Jen takes pride in connecting people to the essence of the Okanagan Valley.
Her favourite creations include the 2020 vintage reds and her 2021 and 2022 Odyssey Chardonnay, which showcases her playful approach to winemaking with innovative fermentation techniques. Guided by curiosity, respect for tradition, and a vision for the future, Jen continues to shape Gray Monk’s place in the evolving world of BC wine.
